Description
This is a 1968 South Coast 21. The SC21 was designed by noted naval architect, Carl Alberg, as a Daysailer/Racer. The SC21 is notable not only it’s design heritage, but for being likely the only Carl Alberg design with a fin keel (as compared to all of Alberg’s other designs that were full-keel).This is a really cool boat with a nice pedigree. She can be used as a Daysailer or a Racer, or both. More info is available online here:

There is an active racing fleet at the Austin Yacht Club here:

The SC21 was built by South Coast Seacraft as a Daysailer/Racer with the following specifications:
LOA 21’
LWL 14.3’
Beam 6.9’
Draft 3’
Keel Type Fin keel
Rig Sloop (fractional rig)
Displacement 2,000 lbs.
This SC21 is a 1968 model and comes with the following equipment:
Mainsail
Roller-furling headsail
Jib (hank-on)
Cockpit winches
Interior cabin cushions
Cockpit lockers/storage
Docking lines (new)
Rope ladder
Fenders
Cabintop cleats
Extra deck hardware to run main sheet to the cockpit (to be installed)
Battery-powered running, masthead and stern lights (new)
Bilge pump (manual)
Outboard engine mount (no outboard is included)
Anchor
The SC21 has a big cockpit (7’ or so) and a small cabin suitable for barebones overnighting. No head, no galley, etc. Given the shoal draft and lighter displacement, you don’t need a big outboard. You could even consider an electric trolling motor to get in and out of your slip. There is no outboard included in this auction. She could also be rowed/sculled. And the SC21 can be trailered if wanted. No trailer is included in this auction. Also, you will need life jackets and other required safety equipment for where you sail.
The boat is stored on-land at a marina in Solomons Island, MD. Solomons is a really cool, fun and vibrant sailing town. Land storage is quite reasonable and is paid through October 2022. Slips are also available.
PLEASE READ
Please do not bid on this boat if you are not serious about making the purchase and are not a responsible boat owner. I would like this SC21 to go to someone who will enjoy her safely and responsibly. You are welcome to inspect the boat in-person if needed. In fact, I encourage it. If this does not describe you, or you are not otherwise ready for boat ownership, please do not bid.
